Alright, ya’ll! This maaay be the easiest, cheapest, quickest, cutest, most functional DIY ever (only a sliiiight exaggeration)!
Quick Backstory
We have an extra room in our house that the kids & I have now dubbed “our office”. I have a desk on the other side of the room & they have theirs!
I wanted artwork to fill the blank wall but something that also spoke to THEM! What better than their very own work?!
Because Christmas tree garland is EVERYWHERE right now, I decided to repurpose it as a simple, aesthetic, artwork display. I LOVE how this turned out especially because I can quickly & easily switch out their artwork as they do new stuff!
Supplies
- Super glue
- This time I used Gorilla Glue & its working just fine but next time I will probably use Krazy Glue because it dries faster.
- Tiny Clothes Pins
- I had these on hand but Im fairly certain I bought these at the dollar store. If you dont feel like hunting them down, there are good options on Amazon.
- Christmas Tree Garland
- I found this 6ft, wood, beaded garland at a store called “Pop Shelf” for FIVE DOLLARS. I dont know if you could beat that if you made it yourself!
- Picture Nails & a Hammer
The Process
- Stretch out your garland on a flat surface
- Determine where you will glue your pins
- I knew I’d likely be hanging artwork on 8.5″ x 11″ sheets of paper so I spaced out my pins accordingly
- Mark where you will glue your pins
- Glue your pins & let dry
- TIP: make sure your pins are facing the correct direction (note which way you will hang o your garlandbefore gluing your pins)
- Hang your garland
- I used picture nails to hang the garland; because this is not very heavy, that should be plenty to support the weight.
- Pin your artwork!
Other Applications
- Christmas card display
- Photo display
- NOTE: for these applications I would use more pins & glue them closer together
I hope you found this helpful! & good luck to you!!
Love,
Kai
